About Mater Boni Consilii Academy

To Educate. To Form. To Serve.

Mater Boni Consilii Academy (MBCA) is a non-profit charity that was founded in February 2013 by Paola Lecanda which sought to provide an alternative to parents in the Halton Region who desire a Catholic private school option for their children. In July 2013 the Board of Directors was formed and by June 2014 the school became a Registered Charity in Ontario. Today, MBCA is committed to a partnership that invites families, faculty, and students to live out their God-given potential.

We provide a holistic approach to quality Catholic education for students in grades K - 8. Through our small class sizes, exemplary faculty who love Christ, a genuine zeal for souls and love for teaching, we form tomorrows leaders to be virtuous stewards who can engage culture.

Why MBCA?

  • Our informal analysis has revealed an increasing number of parents opting to provide their children with private school education.

  • Our research shows there are 12 secular private schools in addition to several Montessori and Christian schools in Halton.

  • Parents who choose a private school option, are limited due to a lack of private institutions that are Catholic.

  • The establishment of MBCA has already generated a lot of interest and support from parents and professionals seeking a private school alternative with Catholic teaching.

Lead by Example

It is our commitment as staff and educators to continue our own education, spiritual formation and service to the students, our school and parish community. Teachers and staff are expected to lead the students by example, through a prayerful and apostolic attitude to concretely live their call to educate, to form and to serve.
