Mater Boni Consilii Academy (MBCA) is a non-profit charity that was founded in February 2013 by Paola Lecanda which sought to provide an alternative to parents in the Halton Region who desire a Catholic private school option for their children. In July 2013 the Board of Directors was formed and by June 2014 the school became a Registered Charity in Ontario. Today, MBCA is committed to a partnership that invites families, faculty, and students to live out their God-given potential.

Mater Boni Consilii Academy was recently featured on Salt + Light Media’s Behold series, sharing the story behind the founding of our school and the mission that inspires our work. This short video offers a glimpse into our commitment to authentic Catholic education; forming students in faith, virtue, and wisdom while helping them discover their dignity as children of God.

We are grateful to the Salt + Light Media team for helping share the story of our growing school community.

Why MBCA?

Choosing a Catholic private school in Ontario means choosing an education that goes beyond academics to form the whole person. At Mater Boni Consilii Academy, our approach is rooted in Integral Formation, the Regnum Christi model of education, which focuses on developing students in four key areas: intellectual, spiritual, human, and apostolic. This holistic educational philosophy nurtures academic excellence, fosters growth in virtue, strengthens character, deepens spiritual life, and instills a desire to serve others.

Through Integral Formation, students are guided to grow in every dimension of their development, equipping them to become confident, faith-filled leaders who positively impact the world. Integral Formation is at the heart of how we fulfill our mission at Mater Boni Consilii Academy to form Christian leaders.

Lead by Example

It is our commitment as staff and educators to continue our own education, spiritual formation and service to the students, our school and parish community. Teachers and staff are expected to lead the students by example, through a prayerful and apostolic attitude to concretely live their call to educate, to form and to serve.
